Martin Damary.jpg

Martin Damary has dedicated his professional life to humanitarian work, sustainable development, human rights, peacebuilding and elections. In the humanitarian sector, he was worked for the ICRC, Geneva Call, PHAP, and was a board member of the Gender and Mine Action Programme. He is an expert often seconded by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, notably on election observation missions. He has worked in the development field for the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and is currently working part-time for a Swiss trade union.

Since 2005, he has specialised in the management of NGOs, mostly covering human resources, finances and general management. By combining his field work experience in a number of countries – usually in the throes of armed conflict – and his knowledge of Swiss and international administrative norms, he is in a unique position to understand the needs of NGOs and to make use of his experience and insights in training and consultancy.

His areas of expertise include:

  • Creating and sustaining NGOs

  • Financial and overall management

  • Applying core humanitarian principles in daily work and decision-making
