International NGO Accountability Charter The first international, cross-sectoral code of conduct is an important initiative by 11 of the world's leading international NGOs to set standards of accountability. Published in June 2006, the Accountability Charter outlines their "commitment to excellence, transparency and accountability". To this purpose, the six-page Charter defines nine key principles. The initiators invite all other international NGOs to sing-up to the Accountability Charter.
