Excellent 2-page introduction towards fundraising from the highly recommendable NGO Café web site. Should help to pass rapidly from problems towards a fundraising strategy. Contains a link to a very well researched guide by Jack K. Boysen on how to mobilize resources for fundraising for development projects, provides web links to main donors and donors directories (21-page of August 2001,in pdf format). This document is an excellent starting point for research into funding possiblities. It was prepared in partnership with the World Bank.

This tool "is designed for use by funders assessing a grant application from a startup nonprofit." It informs nonprofits about the funders' criteria and is therefore highly useful in preparing your funding request. Contains items required for the document review, a selection of key interview questions with organisational leaders and three worksheets. The 38 page tool is highly recommendable. It was prepared by La Piana Associates Inc. for the US organisation Grantmakers for Effective Organization (GEO). Published in June 2003 and downloadable for free as pdf document.
